Reading Rotations
Reading rotations is a literacy framework we use to support reading achievement and personal reading goals from grade one to six at ECS. Students are placed in reading groups at their individual instructional reading levels with peers from various grades working at the same level.
In the reading rotation classroom students rotate through various levelled reading, writing and word work activities. The use of reading rotations also lets students participate in more direct, intense reading instruction at their level.
Student reading levels are assessed once ever six to eight weeks and student groups are shuffled to ensure students are always working on the reading level and skills that best fists their reading needs and development.
Win Time Math
Win time Math is individualized Math rotations focused on supporting students from grade one to six achieve their personal math goals.
Students were assessed and then grouped according to the skills they needed to work on with peers from various grades working on the same or similar skills.
Win time Math allows students to work on filling gaps in their math learning, brush up on numeracy skills or work on enrichment activities that best fit their personal needs.
